Causes of slow synchronization

Summary

Some potential issues that could cause slow synchronization by Add2Exchange.

Description

If you make a relationship, it has to sync ALL the items to all the other relationships to or from that folder… so making them one at a time and then syncing is a bad thing for performance.

To speed things up

  • Add RAM to the system.
  • Another thing you can do is go into the A2E Console and turn up the performance (to the left). This minimizes the delay between syncs, but in previous versions was set to 15 ms between calls. Now you can have no waits on the new versions.

Only do this if the server can handle it – fast and with RAM, not taxed much and you don’t get delays in your Outlook, such as “Outlook is trying to access your Exchange Server”… kind of messages. Turn it up until you do and then turn it back one notch at a time or look to the Task Manager. You never want 100% utilization.

You should always upgrade to the latest release for consistent replication and it’s very important to make sure your software subscription is current in order to get these upgrades free.
