Most Common
If you receive this error when opening up the A2E Console or when using the A2E Toolbox and when doing the CDO login test, the most common cause for this is there was Exchange Server or replication server Microsoft update applied and the system was not rebooted. The Resolution is to stop the Add2Exchange Service and reboot the Exchange Server and/or Replication Server . The issue here is that no new connections to the Exchange Server are being permitted when there is a pending reboot.
Make sure your antivirus is not scanning the installed directory of Add2Exchange or Subdirectories
Antivirus may be blocking creation of files in default location c:\windows\temp, so move them using this procedure:

One tip is to use the Add2Exchange Toolbox to Minimize DB Footprint, off the free side.
Stop Add2Exchange, select the option and GO. This will limit the memory used by our SQL instance to 100 MB. This is a safe option with 50 or fewer relationships.
Other Possible Symptoms and Causes:
If you received the message when Starting the Add2Exchange Service:
Open TaskManager, If there are Multiple A2E Director.exe(s) in memory and no A2ESP.exe or no Add2Exchange Service.exe
End all the Tasks for A2EDirector and reboot. Before you do, check for latest version of CDO (for Exchange 2007 or 2010)
If not the latest, Uninstall the current version, Reboot, Stop the Add2Exchange Service again and install the ExchangeMapiCDO from Preinstaller Directory of Downloaded Add2Exchange Zip file or from Microsoft. The start the Add2Exchange Service. If the issue persists, reregister CDO and restart the server before going to other possible causes.
Another Possible Cause
When Exchange is installed on a synchronization server and then all of the components except exchange system manager are removed, cdo is removed as well. You get a an automation error as a result. If the Exchange Removal is due to an Exchange Migration to Exchange 2007 or 2010, then the standalone ExchangeMapiCDO must be installed or CDO.dll must be registered. Ceck for latest version of CDO (2007 or 2010)
If not, Uninstall, Reboot, Install the ExchangeMapiCDO from Preinstaller Directory of Downloaded Add2Exchange Zip file.
Another Possible Cause
Known issue: GigaTrust digital rights management software installs a 5.5 version of CDO.dll and registers it over the Exchange cdo. This results in an automation error when trying to load either the Add2Exchange console or toolbox.
Another Possible Cause
The WMI stack may be corrupted. Manager computer, WMI, Properties and see if it loads correctly. If it does, then great, if not then fix it
