Connecting to BMW hands free iDrive broght all the public contacts but she only wants personal contacts

Everything is running fine, so thank you. One problem: One of the Iphone users got in her car today and connected to via Bluetooth to the BMW hands free iDrive software as she always does. Unfortunately, all the public contacts (5000 +) synched into the Bluetooth iDrive software. She only wants her Iphone contacts of 150 people to still synch to the Bluetooth IDrive software not the Exchange contacts to synch. Any suggestions or have you dealt with this problem before?? Thanks, B.

Answer

Thanks B

No this is a new one.  Ok, this will alwasy happen if the default Contact folder you connect the IDrive to is the contact folder you created the Add2Exchange relationship to.  If this is not desired, there are two options.  First if it is possible, is to modify if the IDrive connection by Bluetooth so it syncs with a non default Contact folder.  Then you can set it up to sync to a new subfolder you create, move all her personal contacts there, and this would be the folder the IDrive would sync from. You would also have to set the device to put any new contacts her new personal (nondefault) contact folder by default.  Then the existing A2E relationship would be ok, and you could move the personal contacts to the subfolder and the 5000 would be removed from the IDrive on the next sync..

Alternately, and arguably more simple, you could delete the public to private relationship in Add2Exchange, and let it dereplicate. Then when you sync, the 5000 would be removed from the Beemer's memory banks.

Then make a new subContact folder for the public copies in her personal mailbox, and then create a relationship there and sync there.  Then make sure the IDrive does not sync to that folder.  Does this help and solve the issue to your satisfaction?
