Android & GAL Sync

We've run into an issue where Android telephones do not synchronize contact subfolders. Would it be possible

to perform a GAL sync to a user's primary contacts folder and not affect their personal contacts?

Re: Android & GAL Sync

Yes, absolutely.  The Add2Exchange Enterprise product has our GAL Sync feature which allows you to push the GAL to any contact folder for any user.

In your case, you would make a GAL Sync relationship to that user's regular Contacts folder.  The user would receive all of the new GAL contacts in that folder while still retaining the existing contacts he already had.  Add2Exchange will simply ignore those contacts.

Re: Andriod & GAL Sync

You certainly can run a GAL Sync to the personal (Default) contact folder and it will not affect their personal contacts, but simple add to them

if they manually copied them there already, there would be duplicates after the sync.

If using Enterprise edition and Relationship Group Manager, many people create a separate distribution list

which will be set to the default folder, then attach the new template to the new distribution list.  Be sure not to put the same people in both.

That way if your devices don't support it, you can add them to that list.

Does this help?

That helps immensely. Thank you both!
