1. Upgrade to the Latest Supported Version

Click this link above to upgrade to the latest version of our product(s). Generally upgrading solves most common problems associated with updating MS underlying structures or to enjoy the latest enhancements and/or bug fixes. Prior to upgrading, check to make sure your software assurance subscription is active; if not please email us for upgrade licensing.

We guarantee that the posted version on the web of our products conforms to the Microsoft Critical Service packs in effect at the time. If doing a MS Critical Update, stop the Add2Exchange Service prior, then do the MS update and then reboot afterwards.

A reboot is not required after an update of Add2Exchange but you must stop the Add2Exchange Service first. Also, schedule a reboot because heavy load servers with an uptime of 90 days or more may need a refreshing MS Critical update and a reboot after to free memory hogs like SQL, Blackberry and Exchange.

The Add2Exchange Full version comes bundled with SQL. The upgrade does not need it again. If you already have Add2Exchange, obtain the smaller file called: all_others_upgrade_to.xxx.xxx.exe

Save the installation file to the downloads (or "zlibrary or a2esetups or Downloads shortcut on the desktop" we may have created for you), and then extract the files.

Please be sure to stop the Add2Exchange Service and uninstall the prior version version to avoid a reboot. After uninstalling and reinstalling, all relationships and settings will remain intact.

While logged in as the Add2Exchange Service account, run the setup file. You will be prompted to start the Add2Exchange Service as the Add2Exchange Account.

Conditional TIP for non-upgraders. Note the version you are on before this upgrade. After upgrading from "4x, 5x or 6x" versions of Add2Exchange to the latest release, you should run this test. This test will solve a particular kind of issue where items don’t replicate to one (or more than one) user and in the Add2Exchange Event Log, there are errors about "transaction rollbacks". http://support.diditbetter.com/kb/A2E_183.aspx - For these older version upgrades, you must first upgrade to the latest edition of Add2Exchange and then before opening up the Add2Exchange Console, run this procedure above.
